Welcome to the Woodenbong Community WebsiteWoodenbong, officially declared a village in 1902, is located in the shadow of Mt Lindesay in the Border Ranges of Northern NSW and is rich in natural and cultural history. The name Woodenbong is derived from the language of the local Githebal Aboriginal people and means "ducks on a lagoon". The surrounding World Heritage rainforests are also reputed to be the home of the Yowie, although sightings of the creature are rare. Woodenbong has very close ties with the nearby village of Urbenville and the local Mulli Mulli Aboriginal community. Come and visit us, caravan, camping ground available, ask at the Mobil Driveway. |
